A graduate of the University of Huddersfield, Michael has had success in business across two distinct disciplines; the Film, Television and Music industry and the Information Destruction & Document Management industry
TELEVISION, FILM & MUSIC
After graduating from the University of Huddersfield with an Honours Degree in English, Michael won a prestigious apprenticeship place at Yorkshire Television. Over a 5 year period he was trained in house and by the BBC at Evesham and eventually worked as a Post Production Supervisor and Assistant Editor on network Drama.
He was headhunted by AMS Neve to sell capital equipment into the Film, TV and Broadcasting indutry and over the next 9 years rose to become Worldwide Manager for Outboard sales, managing a network of distributors across the globe, most of which he had appointed. He grew the business to just under 5 times the size it was when he took it over.
He worked with broadcasters, film & music studios and artists across the globe, still maintaining strong links with them to this day.
SHREDDING & RM
When Michael left the media industry he was brought into the world of Information Destruction by Datashred, a division of PHS; a world renowned provider of workplace services.
During his time there he was part of a team that grew the division from one of the smallest in the group's portfolio to one of the largest and most profitable.
Michael was originally brought in as a regional sales executive and after a successful year was put in charge of the Northern Sales team eventually rising to become National Accounts Manager.
5 years into his tenure at Datashred, Russell Richardson & Sons headhunted Michael as their Sales Director, where he oversaw sales and marketing and was also responsible for public sector growth, an example being the bringing in of 9 Police forces across the UK as customers.
GO SHRED LIMITED
Following an acquisition, Michael was made redundant by Richardson's and decided to start his own Secure Shredding company from the ground up. With the invaluable support of his family, Go Shred was born in September 2013 and became incorporated in February 2014.
With over four hundred and fifty customers brought on board in the first three years, the company has built on the strong customer service ethics that Michael has always worked by throughout his career.
